Scientific interests and Field research experience:

- Primatology, ecology, ethology, sociobiology, practical conservation

- 1994-2000 research on Hanuman langurs (Semnopithecus entellus) in Bhangarh (Rajasthan, India) focused on social dynamics, allomothering and infanticide (32 months of field work)

- 2003 research on nocturnal lemurs aye-ayes (Daubentonia madagascariensis) in Mananara-Nord, Madagascar, focused on social organization, feeding, ranging and eco-morphology (6 months of field work)

- 2005-2006 survey of white-fronted langurs (Presbytis frontata) and other mammals in Sungai Wain, East Kalimantan, Indonesia (12 months of field work)

- 2007-2010 conservation research project focused on proboscis monkeys (Nasalis larvatus) living in coastal mangroves of Balikpapan Bay, East Kalimantan, Indonesia (12 months of field work)

- Miscellaneous: pilot observations of several primate species: ring-tailed lemurs (Lemur catta) and Verreaux’s sifakas (Propithecus verreauxi) in south-east Madagascar; indris (Indri indri) in Perinet, central-east Madagascar; Hanuman langurs, Assamese macaques (Macaca assamensis) an rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) in Makalu-Barun, Nepalese Himalayas; rhesus macaques in Kathmandu, Nepal, Hanuman langurs and rhesus macaques in Shimla (India) and snub-nosed langurs (Rhinopithecus roxellanae) in Zhougzhi, China. Participation on research of allosuckling in brown dear (Cervus elaphus) in Czech Republic. Participation on the research on human olfactory communication.


Pedagogical experience:

- 1995 – 1996 member of the Working Group for the Preparing Themes for The National Biological Olympiad

- Since 2000 – supervising number of Bachelors and Masters theses in the field of primatology, specifically play behavior, personality, grooming, effects of enrichment and substrate use; species under study include aye-ayes, ruffed lemurs, cotton-topped tamarin, Diana monkey, patas monkey, de Brazza monkey, green monkey, chimpanzee, and the gray parrot

- Teaching courses Methodology of behavioral research (2001-2004), Primatology (2002-present), Conservation of Primates and Tropical Ecosystems (2002-present), Ethological Data Analysis (2004), Sociobiology (2004); Ethological Practicals (2004)
