0. About QDA I. course - introduction (what we will do, requirements, communication etc.)   more in Syllabus QDA I.
1. Revision of subject matter of Design of Quantitative Research (research question, operacionalisation, verification of hypothesis, design of survey)  Entrance test in Design of Quantitative Research.   To fill in the knowledge read handouts and literature on metodykv.wz.cz.
2. Quantitative data - introduction: Types of data; data matrix (2-mode data, from survey)   see handout (in Czech);
3. Descriptive statistics - exploratory univariate analysis   see handout (still partly in Czech);
4. Introduction into the programme SPSS and very basic datamanagement (variable name, labels).  See 1. Introduction to SPSS/PSPP (1.) (program environment, data input, labelling variables, basic settings)

   The Elaboration Model Chapter 16, Pp. 395-412  (multivariate analysis, logic of elaboration)
Elaborating bivariate relationships (pp. 161-170) in de Vaus, D., A. 1985. Surveys in Social Research, First Edition, Hemel Hempstead/Winchester, Mass. : Allen & Unwin Ltd.   (excellent simple examples of multivariate analysis with 2x2x2 tables and principle of elaboration) This is highly recommended text.
Cross-tabulations and More on tables (selected parts of chapters 1 and 2) in Treiman, D. J. 2009. Quantitative data analysis: doing social research to test ideas San Francisco: Jossey-Bass.  (excellent comment and examples of interpreting crosstabulation, elaboration, interaction/additive effects)  This is highly recommended text.
Quantitative data analysis   Chapter 14 in Bryman, A. 2008. Social research methods. Oxford: Oxford University Press.  online resources (data, tests)  (descriptive statistics as well as testing hypothesis)
